Remember the song - '9 million bicycles in Beijing'? Well, when I was in Suzhou the other day, I took this photo...just a FRACTION of the bike park!! Then we saw a guy taking a monkey for a walk on a lead...it kept grabbing his leg, shagging it like a randy dog. He offered to put it on my shoulder - "He no bite!" - but I thought I'd end up like Evander Holyfield with half my ear bitten off, or at least my ear full of monkey sperm...
I snapped the shot of a guy asleep a while ago - I often see people asleep in cars, on benches, in trees, even just lying on the pavement - ouch...these guys can kip anywhere...I often see people asleep at their desks in offices, with jackets over their heads as if to say "DO NOT DISTURB!" - again, the norm here...not if they worked for me, it wouldn't be!!
Flying back, I was annoyed (as always) to see people taking far too much 'hand luggage' on board - boxes of bloody fruit or even two small cases + a back pack - half the time, the overhead bins are crammed full. One of the reasons I fly home with BA - those boys don't take no shit!! And none of this unbuckling as soon as the wheels hit the tarmac! Last time I saw one steward running up and down shouting "GET BACK IN YOUR SEATS UNTIL THE CAPTAIN TELLS YOU OTHERWISE!" - I fly back tomorrow & can't wait to hear "Welcome aboard sir!" as I get on!! Worth the extra dosh!!
