Before anyone moans, sorry if some of these photo's are the wrong way round - I"ve edited them all, dropped the size etc, but some just won't rotate...I'm tired and just can't be arsed...
Part 2....
Whilst in the DVD shop, the new documentary about THE EAGLES (review in THE CHRON soon) had been put in the wildlife section with the David Attenborough stuff (think about it...)
I'm ofetn amazed how many barrow loads of...well, CRAP there are here - some people make a living from collecting cardboard & plastic, and they pile it really high up on their barrows...
The currency here is about 10 times up on the pound - so ten quid is 100 RMB ("Dibbers" as we call it)- so this (very small) box of my fave cereal is just under 10 quid...my pal was amazed when he saw how overjoyed I was to get some bags of wine gums and jelly sweets off him when he arrived. I hid them (no sharing - get your bloody own!) and I 'treat' myself form time to time...in the UK, I'd easily scoff a full packet in a few minutes...today, I"ve restricted myself to 4 so far (make that 5...now...- YUM!! And a RED one!!)
Finally, I've started to admire the way the communist 'way' creates loads of jobs (ie no parking meters, they have hundreds of parking attendants) and you never see anyone working alone...here's a classic example - one guys cuts the (real) grass...someone else watches, on the pretense of being the 'sweeper-upper'....
