Flying home in a few hours - Turkish Airlines this time, after falling out with BA over baggage allowance last time (I was allowed 2 cases at 24kg each and only had one but it weighed 25kg) - the bastards didn't reply to my complaint (well, rant!) or my complaint about them not replying to my complaint....and then I complained about my previous complaint (about my previous complaint) not being answered either. I sent another saying "you obviously don't give a shit and should not be allowed to use the word 'British' in your name, or the great flag of our great country".
I cancelled my 2 remaining round trips with them and got better flight times with Turkish, who are supposed to be dead good. I'll see about midnight tonight. I'm 7 hours in front of you, and with time zones etc, I will be home before I've set off from here....I'm like Dr Who without a fit assistant (ideally with a decent chest, if anyone fancies the job)...
It's 10 hours to Istanbul and then 4 to Manchester, with a couple in between. Water off a ducks back now...
When I get back here in a week or so, I have to travel to a city (I use the term loosely) without an airport (that makes it a village!) and a colleague took me to book a ticket on the bullet train today. When I said "first class, my good man", he and the ticket lady jabbered and I assume said "who the feck does he think HE is?"
I is British, that's what I am...
