My romantic hotel in the lakes...

...not...

I know where I'd rather be!!!

Anyway - I've been somewhere near Hong Kong this week - shows how big China is when I fly over 3 hours and I'm still in the same bloody country!!

My hotel was the tallest building in the city ('Foshan' for anyone that cares)- 51 floors (you take 2 lifts to get to the top)- my room was on the 47th, although it was like Fort Knox in terms of getting a decent view / opening a window to get a photo of the view ('jumpers!!!')
Brekky was decent, and on the 50th floor. Bacon (sort of) and beans (crap - it's Heinz or nothing) and some sausages Richard Madeley wouldn't bother pinching...but I manged to fill my belly.

I found an Indian restaurant nearby, and made my Chinese colleagues eat there with me last night - they weren't keen on going at all - totally new to them, and they tried to order Chinese food but me and the owner (proper Indian)ganged up and ordered everything - nice to have the shoe on MY foot for once. They clearly felt out of place & weren't overly taken with it all..."NOW YOU KNOW HOW I FEEL EVERY NIGHT!"...I tried to explain how I next need to find somewhere that serves a proper British Sunday Roast...but YOU try describing a Yorkshire Pudding (while drooling at the thought)to Kung Fu Caine & Jackie Chan...

I got to the airport to fly back this morning & a sudden thunderstorm & torrential rain hit...I thought "OH NO - DELAYS!" but it passed quickly and we were only an hour delayed, and - to be fair - the pilot kept his foot on the gas when we landed and I got home in one piece.

Just been out for some CHEERIOS and LURPAK - I can't compromise on those! - so I'm a tenner down...

Kettle is on...
