This week's adventures....(1)

Been to Xi'An this week - the home of the famous Terracotta Army, which I didn't get to see but intend to another time.

Started with a 5am ride to the airport, and a HUGE queue of HUGE Americans who talked VERY LOUDLY all the way through the flight. They are bloody annoying - clapping each other on the plane as 'The Scrapbooker' came on (it was clearly an organised trip) and they were all fat bastards - heck, the seat in front was almost in 'full recline' mode because 'Poppy' was so fecking fat (real name is probably ERMENTRUDE) - when I put my tray down, on the back of her seat, I nearly cut myself in half. The stewardess' asked them to "put your seat back in the upright position" when we were landing, and got the answer "It IS!"

The terrain around the city was more mountainous, and lovely to see as we approached, and there was a fantastic 'mural' in the airport - the city is seeped in history, and was known as home to 3 dynasties covering a period of over 3,000 years, and still known as an 'ancient city', although as we landed, it was obvious there had been MASSIVE development in recent years, with the usual countless tall skyscrapers under construction and cranes littering the skyline, along with dozens of other (empty) blocks that always make me think all this is just not sustainable...
